1. Who is The Gentle Start antenatal course for?

The Gentle Start is designed for expectant parents and birth partners who want calm, evidence-based preparation for birth and early parenthood.

It's particularly suited to first-time parents, or anyone feeling overwhelmed by information and looking for a gentler approach.

2. When is the best time in pregnancy to attend?

Most people attend between 24–36 weeks of pregnancy, but the course can be helpful earlier or later too.

If you're unsure whether the timing is right for you, you're very welcome to get in touch.

3.How is the course delivered?

The Gentle Start is delivered online, in small, supportive groups.

This allows you to join from the comfort of your own home, while still benefiting from connection, discussion, and guidance

4.Do I need to prepare anything in advance?

No preparation is needed.

You don't need prior knowledge or experience — just come as you are. Questions are always welcome, but there's no pressure to speak or share.

5. Is this course suitable for all types of birth?

Yes. The Gentle Start is inclusive of all birth journeys, including vaginal birth, induction, planned or unplanned caesarean birth, and everything in between.

The focus is on understanding, choice, flexibility, and emotional preparation — not on achieving a particular kind of birth

6.Will this course tell me what choices to make?

No. The course does not tell you what you should do.

Instead, it supports you to understand your options, ask questions, and make decisions that feel right for you — with flexibility and self-compassion.
